JAY-Z: 'NOT REALLY INTO POLITICS'

Posted On 17:24 by Unknown 0 comments

Rapper Jay-Z, who recently held a fundraiser that raised $4 million for President Barack Obama’s campaign, said he was just not that into politics.
Jay-Z told MTV News he was “not really into politics” because “a lot of people are serving their own agendas, so they just argue back and forth and they think about their next term.”
"And it's more about themselves than about the people,” Jay-Z said. “They're servicing the people, but we rarely get anything done because they're going back and forth with whatever they're doing, so I'm not really into politics."
He could have been speaking about Obama, but the rapper said he had to support Obama because he “is the first black President ever.”

The BBC is pretty blatant about suggesting that Amy and Rory are going to die in tonight's episode

Posted On 17:16 by Unknown 0 comments

The BBC is pretty blatant about suggesting that Amy and Rory are going to die in tonight's episode of "Doctor Who".  Since very few fans of the show actually know much about "Doctor Who" history, here is a list of other Companions who've died on-screen:

* During "The Daleks' Master Plan" (1965-1966), two Companions die.  Long-time Companion Katarina is taken hostage and trapped in an airlock with her captor. To prevent the Doctor from giving in to his demands, Katarina triggers the controls -- expelling herself and her captor into space.  The other Companion to die during that episode was Sara Kingdom, who had joined the Doctor during that episode.  The Doctor is forced to activate a device known as the Time Destructor. It accelerates time.  Sara stays behind to ensure that the device works. She is killed as the Time Destructor ages her and she dies.

* During the episode "Earthshock" (1982), long-time Companion Adric dies while aboard a spaceship. The Cybermen had gone deep into Earth's past and rigged the ship to detonate in the Earth's atmosphere -- destroying humanity long before it ever evolved. Adric managed to get aboard the ship and reprogram it so that it did not explode. But he died in the crash as the ship plowed into the Yucatan Peninsula (killing all the dinosaurs).  As the Fifth Doctor transforms into the Sixth Doctor, he whispers Adric's name -- the only time the Doctor mentioned anyone during a transformation.

* In the episode "Voyage of the Damned" (2008), spaceship waitress Astrid Peth sacrifices herself to stop a robot from killing the Doctor.  It's not clear whether Peth should be considered a Companion, as she never traveled in the TARDIS.

Last Resort' premiere review

Posted On 16:57 by Unknown 0 comments

Tense and well-acted by stars Andre Braugher and Scott Speedman, Last Resort is one of the most promising new shows of the fall season, as well as being one that carries a big risk of dropping in quality: It’s an absorbing curiosity.
The pilot that aired on Thursday night told a complex tale with swift efficiency. Braugher and Speedman head up a Navy ballistic missle submarine, the USS Colorado. As Captain Marcus Chaplin and XO Lt. Commander Sam Kendal, respectively, the ship receives an order to launch a missle at Pakistan. Something’s fishy about this drastic directive, however, and when Chaplin balks at firing, he’s relieved of command and his second in command (the “XO”) is put in charge.
Last Resort is co-created by Shawn Ryan (The Shield, The Unit) and Karl Gajdusek, and many of the submarine scenes achieved a kind of Das Boot-style feeling of simultaneous claustrophobia and non-stop activity. When the Colorado takes aboard some surly Navy SEALs who seem instantly bent on questioning, disobeying, and generally out-machoing any Colorado officer they encounter, things got excitingly crowded; there was barely enough room for Robert Patrick to find enough scenery to chew as the excessively-steamed Chief of the Boat Joseph Prosser.
You have to give the producers credit for trying to grapple with real politick on a broadcast network — no show this side of Homeland is taking the risk of dealing with actual geopolitical hot-spots. As Braugher’s Chaplin notes, “annihilating 4.3 million Pakistanis” is no small gesture. On dry land, we see on TV screens over other characters’ shoulders that the government is in tumult — something to do with an impeachment vote on the President. It’s also on dry land that we get the most damp subplots, such as a flirty Washington, D.C., designer of submarine cloaking systems (Autumn Reeser) tumbling to the Colorado’s disobeyed order before any of her colleagues, most of the government, and the entire media.
It’s all shaping up to being ascribed to a conspiracy, a governmental putsch, that could either prove Last Resort‘s triumph or undoing as an ongoing compelling drama. That, and the fact that the place the Colorado chooses to surfaces looks like the most gorgeous tropical paradise ABC has aired since Fantasy Island.
If you want to have someone sell a slightly wobbly story with vehement conviction, you can’t do better than Andre Braugher. The surprise of the series, however, may be how well he works with Scott Speedman. I wouldn’t have thought the mumble-proneFelicity vet would have meshed well with Braugher, but the two display convincing mentor-mentee chemistry.
I’ve seen next week’s episode as well, and I’m a little worried that Last Resort is going to take on too much melodramatic bilge in the D.C. scenes to maintain momentum, but I’m rooting for the show. How about you?

Arnold Schwarzenegger confirms Brigitte Nielson affair (video)

Posted On 15:42 by Unknown 0 comments

“We both knew that it wouldn't last beyond the movie, we didn't hold back. We wanted to try everything and so we did. There were no restrictions, no promises, nothing, and it was a great time in my life,” Nielsen described the affair in an interview with the Herald Sun.
Nielsen stated the affair took place when they appeared in the 1985 film “Red Sonja.” She described the attraction as instant but stated she had no misconceptions regarding the nature of the relationship. She had no fanciful ideas of marrying Schwarzenegger and said they both knew it was a temporal affair.
Though Schwarzenegger wasn’t married to Shriver at the time, they were engaged and living together. Nielson spoke of how Schwarzenegger’s and Shriver’s 25-year marriage may have impacted her decision to have an affair with him.
She stated, “Maybe I wouldn't have got into it if he said 'I'm going to marry Maria' and this is dead serious, but he didn't, and our affair carried on.
Schwarzenegger will appear in an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes” on Sunday, September 30, 2012. In a video clip, Schwarzenegger described his affair with Baena as the “stupidest thing” he ever did. He also stated that Shriver has not read his autobiography “Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story.”
He stated to the L.A. Times, “She knows that it's about my whole life and that I would not write a book and kind of leave out that part and make people feel like, 'Well, wait a minute. Are we just getting a book about his success stories and not talk about his failures? I wanted to write a book about me.’”
Speaking about the affair with Baena, Schwarzenegger said, “I think it was the stupidest thing I've done in the whole relationship. It was terrible. I inflicted tremendous pain on Maria and unbelievable pain on the kids.”

Dancing with the Stars All-Stars Delivers Butt-Shaking, Far more Sex Appeal.

Posted On 23:58 by Unknown 0 comments

Any time Shawn Johnson announced her retirement from gymnastics in the summer, it was bittersweet for the gold medalist – and most of her fans who were intending to cheer her on in the 2012 Olympic Games.

But the 20-year-old reclaimed a few of that glory Monday night as she returned on the ballroom for the all-stars season of Dancing with the Stars.

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba quickly summarized the former champ's 22-point foxtrot for you to Owl City's "Good Time" with pro Derek Hough: "This is what all-star season is dependant on! "

The premise may possibly be switched, the rules tweaked (introducing … 50 percent points! ), but the level of competition is equally as fierce for the other 12 returning dancers hoping for a shot at redemption – or feeling the pressure to upstage their Dancing track records.

Taking about Johnson: actress Kirstie Alley, bombshell Pamela Anderson, Cheetah Gal Sabrina Bryan, Indy 500 samsung champ c3300k Hélio Castroneves, 'N Sync's Joey Fatone, 98 Degrees' Received Lachey, actor Gilles Marini, water and soap star Kelly Monaco, Olympian Apolo Anton Ohno, reality star Melissa Rycroft and outdated NFL running back Emmitt Johnson.

Fatone kicked off the night along with his showmanship on display for some sort of 20. 5-point cha-cha-cha to Eileen Jackson's classic "P. Y. To. (Pretty Young Thing)" alongside unique partner Kym Johnson. And it absolutely was Bryan, the last-minute addition, who had previously been the first to oust Johnson through the top spot. Partnered with Louis Vehicle Amstel, the couple's feisty cha-cha-cha to one Direction's bubblegum jam "What Enables you to Beautiful" earned 22. 5 points.

"You are on fire, " Inaba believed to Bryan, whose elimination back with season 5 was a show up floor shocker. "There's nothing being a woman scorned, and you went back here with a fire within your booty. "

But the night's best score was ultimately awarded on the last (but certainly not least) couple who performed: Smith and Cheryl Burke, who inched ahead with a 24. 5-point take on the cha-cha-cha to Aretha Franklin's "Chain of Fools. "
Who's the Most sexy?
Anderson's cha-cha-cha with new associate Tristan MacManus to Amy Winehouse's "You Recognize I'm No Good" brought the sex appeal – however it lacked mass appeal at the judges' table in support of earned 17 points. (Also reviewing low: Alley and original ballroom marijuana Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who clocked in 19 points for foxtrot to Adele's "Set Fire on the Rain" – which judge Bruno Tonioli explained "needed refining. ")

"It was a little like a kid on a bike when you take the training wheels down, " explained judge Len Goodman.

Properly sexy: Marini and new associate Peta Murgatroyd, who snagged one of several evening's higher scores with some sort of lusty 24-point foxtrot to Honest Sinatra's "Call Me Irresponsible. " (And, clearly lusting was Inaba, that remarked, "I missed you. ")

And speaking of sexy, season 4 champ, swiftness skater Ohno, returned to the ballroom "3, 000-times sexier, " in accordance with Inaba. And his 22-point cha-cha-cha for you to LMFAO's "Party rock Anthem" with new partner Karina Smirnoff wasn't so hard around the eyes, either.

But it seemed to be another highlight performer, Palin, who earned that which was arguably the night's highest recognize.

"I vote you the most-improved since last time we saw anyone, " praised Inaba after Palin and Mark Ballas laid around the sass with a 19. 5-point cha-cha-cha for you to Pink's "Blow Me (One Last Kiss). "

Before her ballroom comeback, Palin – whose family, which include mom Sarah Palin and 3-year-old daughter Tripp, sat in the audience – made a promise determined by her often-criticized season 11-reputation: "I'm going to shake my butt, " the lady said. "I'm going to employ a smile on my face. "

Tuesday night though, one with the couples will hang up their dancing shoes. Tell us from the comments below: Who gets your vote to stay in the ballroom?

'How I Met Your Mother': Showrunners talk about the (possible) beginning of the end

Posted On 23:54 by Unknown 0 comments

It’s the beginning of the end, How I Met Your Mother fans – or it is. Anyone who has watched the growing season 8 premiere may have seen one more season opener of Ted Moseby’s televised journey toward picking out the mother of his children.

This CBS show’s writers approached tonight’s episode, “Farhampton, ” like it was the beginning of the show’s final season.

“We kind of come in every day as well as go, ‘This is the last season of Generate income Met Your Mother’ until we hear different… We think like this launches the final season, ” co-creator Craig Thomas told reporters yesterday. Still no definitive word upon whether a ninth season is coming.

So right now, the writers are getting full speed ahead to the reveal of the mother, with a Plan B constantly in place in the instance the demonstrate is renewed. Thomas and fellow showrunner Carter Bays revealed more about his or her plans for season 8 and about was taking place in tonight’s episode. Fair notice: SPOILERS AHEAD about tonight’s episode and the fate of Ted Moseby and the mother.

Monday’s episode gave us a glimpse in the night Ted meets his wife-to-be. There is the familiar yellow umbrella, plus a guitar case – plus a couple of legs, the most of the caretaker we’ve seen so far. Thomas and Bays were never eager to divulge whether they’ve cast the caretaker or whether the woman having the umbrella in tonight’s episode was another “stunt mother. ”

“I don’t desire to say because ultimately when we all do cast the actress who’s the caretaker, it’s going to have to get shrouded in secrecy, so in the event it already happened, we already did it, we don’t want to say, ” Thomas said.

As for almost any concern about successful chemistry tests between Josh Radnor and the actress playing the mother, Bays mentioned, “Josh just has good chemistry just as a guy, no matter who you put him with. I think he’s kind of a ladies’ gentleman. ”

Thomas did confirm that that night about the train platform is “the finish off line” – Ted does finally satisfy the mother there. They may never have talked in tonight’s episode, but which is the time and the place where by that meeting will finally take place.

Bays and Thomas were also tight-lipped about how precisely precisely long fans have to wait till the show returns to that rainy night in the Farhampton train station. Any questions about how precisely precisely soon we’d see the next moment for the reason that fateful meeting were met using the same vague wording that appeared inside the premiere: That moment is “a little further down the road. ”

The two showrunners were somewhat more forthcoming when the topic associated with discussion wasn’t the ever-mysterious new mother. Here are a few other activities reporters learned from the showrunners about the season premiere and what’s ahead:

The morning of Barney and Robin’s wedding may seem to be catastrophe-prone, but fans can hold onto hope that the two are used to be.
Bays and Thomas talked with pride about the scenes between Neil Patrick Harris and Cobie Smulders inside the season 8 premiere. “The chemistry between Neil and Colbie is so great that she doesn’t even ought to be in a scene with him to help them to have chemistry, ” Thomas mentioned.

As for what Barney’s thinking of while he’s in the cab with Quinn’s head resting upon his shoulder, Thomas says, “He has his fiancée asleep on the shoulder, and he’s thinking with regards to another woman. ” But it is Barney we’re talking about, so Bays’ theory may hold normal water too: “He’s probably thinking in regards to suit he wants to invest in. ”

Marvin Waitforit Erikson will not likely take over the show, but Marshall and Lily are definitely living the parental life now.
Two of our merry folks are parents now, which any father or mother knows means their life has changed forever, and the writers will make certain that is clear — beyond Marshall as well as Lily’s delirious state displayed within tonight’s premiere. But there’s do not need worry that the whole dynamic of Generate income Met Your Mother will adjust. “I like to believe that any of us are tending to the fact that they have a baby greater than some other shows have, ” Jones said, “but I don’t seem like the baby takes over the particular show. ”

We haven’t seen one more of Robin Sparkles.
The Generate income Met Your Mother team are determined to get one last scene of Robin’s Canadian pop star alter-ego inside the show. “We want to get back to [Robin Sparkles]. One more period before we hang it upwards, ” Bays said. Added Jones, “And we have a method to do it that I think could be completely different from the other methods we’ve done it. ”

Generate income Met Your Mother will not really pull an Office.
If HIMYM moves forward that has a ninth season, you can be prepared to see all of its key cast about the show. “No, we would in no way, ever, ever [renew without every one of the series regulars signed on]. It’s a family group, and we’re finishing this thing together, ” Thomas said. Negotiations on the list of studio, the network and the talent to view whether the show will get another season are usually in progress.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey

Posted On 23:48 by Unknown 0 comments

Whilst you were all comfy on your couch eating Bon Bons and watching the Emmys, things got downright explosive of the Real Housewives of New Hat. I'm not even going to attempt to recap ALL of the steps, because my brain would probably explode in the process, but the sort of key boiling point all began which has a bald guy named Angelo who strolled approximately Melissa at the fashion demonstrate, and claimed she used in order to strip for him. (! )

Items got very bizarre, even because of the Real Housewives of New Hat standards. Melissa claims it's almost all a lie, and Kathy is the only person of the drama divas to convey "hey, I don't care should your stripped, even if you declare you didn't" — obviously almost all up in her Xanax area. The really strange part of the slide is that Teresa, yes of which Teresa, is actually behind involves. Flash back. Teresa actually met Angelo the last day—SCANDAL! —and really didn't seem to believe his story, and placed on like she would defend Melissa, but when Angelo sort of dropped his bomb and scampered away from, it was Teresa who twisted the knife.

So family respect? Yeah we have none of the on The Real Housewives of New jersey. As for the stripping state, Melissa does admit she worked due to this guy but as a Bartender, not a stripper. Things accomplish the boiling point and Melissa phone calls Joe. This means Teresa's involvement from the whole scheme is one androgenic hormone or testosterone fueled confronation away.

Well, naturally the poor bald guy Angelo decides to get out of there before Joe arrives, and Teresa is left looking like the one trying to push this specific rumor into fact, mostly because the girl with. How bad did things receive? Well, Jacqueline refuses to arrived at reunion because she never desires to see Teresa again. So really does she? Well, we have the pictures on the Reunion episode, which is arranged to air September 30th, and believe me, from the looks of things the Drama is simply starting to peak on The actual Housewives of New Jersey. Just hit the arrows near the top of the page for a looksie.

Both were shot several years ago and are anything but short — one clocks in at around twenty minutes, the other is more than forty and said to feature non-stop action.
