R&B performer Chris Brown has tested optimistic for marijuana, leading a L . a . judge on Monday to set a November hearing to determine whether he violated his probation stemming from a 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna.
As outlined by a probation report presented with court, Brown tested positive with June in Virginia, where they are fulfilling his community service, L . a . Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg mentioned. Brown, who is midway by way of a five-year probation sentence, produced a medical marijuana card following positive test, Schnegg said.
Schnegg said mandatory drug testing has not been a condition of Brown’s probation. Although she scheduled a Nov. 1 hearing to determine whether he had violated his probation on that along with other matters, including travel restrictions and also fulfillment of his community services.
Schnegg gave Brown, 23, a warning in court, reminding him that he was a role model.
“You are not an ordinary one who can sit in your living room and do whatever for you to do, ” Schnegg told the “Turn In the Music” singer. “More importantly, many people look up to you, lots of kids. What you do and what you say impacts many people. ”
Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, said his client had “completed all his community service. ”
Brown leafy, who won a Grammy award earlier this holiday season, was sentenced to five years of probation and a few months of community service after pleading guilty to criminal assault for beating Rihanna around the eve of the Grammy awards in 2009.
