Google Maps On The New Iphone 5

03:41 |

The most up-to-date version of Apple’s operating program for iPhones and iPads, iOS 6, is actually out. As people upgrade, the Maps application previously powered by Google is actually being replaced by Apple’s personal homegrown one. Not everyone’s satisfied. Will Google release its personal Google Maps app for iOS 6 customers? The company, in its newest statement, remains unclear.

I asked Google today if we’d be buying a Google Maps app, and in that case, when and also if it will include turn-by-turn navigation. Here’s what I was repaid:

We believe Google Maps would be the most comprehensive, accurate and easy-to-use maps on the planet. Our goal is to help make Google Maps available to everyone who would like to use it, regardless of gadget, browser, or operating system.

Let’s parse the particular statement. It sounds like Google wants its own app for iOS 6 — therefore the “regardless of device” element. But it’s not confirming this will happen soon or the reason it’s not already happened.

Is Apple somehow blocking it? In that case, Google’s not saying. Is Google holding back for a few strange reason? Again, we only don’t know.

Stay tuned. It seems likely Google will need to release its own app, the same as it did to rectify while using situation for YouTube being dropped as being a default application in iOS 6. The YouTube app is actually number one in the iTunes totally free apps chart, after being out for a week.

Google Maps, of training, remains in iOS 6 via the browser. It’s a less convenient strategy for using it, but it even offers features for example traffic:

I’m not sure in the event the message “the same Google Atlases, now in your mobile browser” is often a new one that Google offers added anticipating this release. In that case, it’s smart. If not, the item still caught my eye.

We’ll bring more once we get it, along with our own article on how the new Maps element in iOS 6 stacks on what iOS 5 had in addition to Google Maps for Android.
